About these counts
- Each crash is counted once in the total. A crash involving multiple active transportation modes appears in each applicable mode line; the mode counts may add up to more than the total.
- Source: Utah Crash Data Portal, using state crash IDs classified as Provo. Adjacent-city records, police-only unmatched records, and crashes with no reported motor vehicle are excluded.
- Motor vehicles include cars, SUVs, trucks, buses, and motorcycles. These are crash counts, not numbers of people injured and not risk rates adjusted for walking or biking activity.
- Modes use reported person types: bicycle (4), pedestrian (3), and other conveyance (5). Involvement flags are used only when these person types are absent. “Other” does not reliably distinguish scooters, skateboards, or other devices.
- Full calendar years are shown for comparison. Reports can be missing, delayed, or corrected later; a full year does not mean every crash was reported. The latest included crash is dated 2026-09-30.
